It depends on the intended use. For example, if you need to digitally sign documents as a natural person, a natural person certificate will suffice. If, on the other hand, you need one for your SUNAT invoices, you will need a digital invoicing certificate. If you need one for your website, you may need an SSL website certificate. If you are going to sign as a company representative, you might need a legal entity certificate. In all cases, it is important that your certificate is recognized by a company duly accredited by various government agencies (INDECOPI, SUNAT, etc.). It is also desirable for it to have a seal of trust and quality, such as the WebTrust Seal.

Indecopi has regulated and authorized duly recognized and audited companies to issue and sell digital certificates. At SAETA, we have the digital certificate you need according to your specific requirement. Don't forget to mention its intended use. Not all certificates are universally valid for all purposes.

Each company authorized by Indecopi to issue digital certificates usually has software with a user manual. Make sure that your software is properly accredited by Indecopi, as it is a mandatory requirement for the digitally signed document or medium to have legal validity. Some programs already come with a built-in signer.

When your expiration period approaches, we will send you an automatic email informing you that your certificate is nearing its expiration period. You will need to pay the renewal fee, and one of our executives will automatically revalidate some of your data if necessary before renewing your certificate. If it is not necessary and there are no issues, the renewal period should not exceed 72 hours.

This will depend a lot on how you wish to sign. If you do it through physical tokens, these usually have software for uploading, where you will likely have to load your certificate and your key. In the case of SAETA software, there are two modes: one where you load your accredited certificate onto your PC and you will no longer be asked for a PIN, and another where you will necessarily have to load the file containing your certificate each time you sign, along with your PIN. In cases of digital hardware such as tokens, the software includes an option to withdraw the certificate. In the case of software, it also contains an option. It is advisable to store the files containing your digital certificate in a secure location.

Only companies authorized by the Peruvian Government through INDECOPI can issue a digital certificate. SAETA has INDECOPI accreditation to issue digital certificates.

Currently, INDECOPI has regulated the provision of digital certificates without the need to physically attend authorized certificate providers. Some physical documents are required to be sent via email, along with a short acceptance video for the issuance of the certificate.

You can use the same certificate, but remember that there are certain regulations established by the Peruvian state and other contractual types that could render the digitally signed document invalid. Normally, this is not possible, and it is also not advisable to store your signature without a password and without a PIN.

Not necessarily. You should consult the archival regulations to know which documents can be destroyed once digitized with legal value and which cannot. For example, even though invoices can be digitized with legal value, Peruvian regulations state that they must remain in physical custody for a period of 10 years.

While it is true that there is a wide range of file types for storing images, it is almost an industry standard to store digitized images in TIFF or PDF format because they allow multiple images to be stored in a single document.

The Peruvian standard establishes that visualization should be done through an image viewer. Saeta has its own software for viewing images. We provide our images in accordance with the standard with an image viewer. Alternatively, we can integrate our deliveries into your image viewer if you have one.

While it is true that there is no standard for document digitization, it is practically an industry practice to have at least a minimum resolution of between 240 and 600 DPI. However, it is necessary to study the volume of images to be digitized because it should be noted that higher resolution means larger file sizes, and in billions of images, file size can be a very important variable.
