It depends on the intended use. For example, if you need to digitally sign documents as a natural person, a natural person certificate will suffice. If, on the other hand, you need one for your SUNAT invoices, you will need a digital invoicing certificate. If you need one for your website, you may need an SSL website certificate. If you are going to sign as a company representative, you might need a legal entity certificate. In all cases, it is important that your certificate is recognized by a company duly accredited by various government agencies (INDECOPI, SUNAT, etc.). Each company authorized by Indecopi to issue digital certificates usually has software with a user manual. Make sure that your software is properly accredited by Indecopi, as it is a mandatory requirement for the digitally signed document or medium to have legal validity. When your expiration period approaches, we will send you an automatic email informing you that your certificate is nearing its expiration period. You will need to pay the renewal fee, and one of our executives will automatically revalidate some of your data if necessary before renewing your certificate. This will depend a lot on how you wish to sign. If you do it through physical tokens, these usually have software for uploading, where you will likely have to load your certificate and your key. In the case of SAETA software, there are two modes: one where you load your accredited certificate onto your PC and you will no longer be asked for a PIN, and another where you will necessarily have to load the file containing your certificate each time you sign, along with your PIN. It depends a lot on the validity period. Typically, a certificate is purchased for 1 or 2 years and then renewed. You can use the same certificate, but remember that there are certain regulations established by the Peruvian state and other contractual types that could render the digitally signed document invalid. It is a procedure that allows for the storage and safeguarding of documents, whether physical or digital, preserving their integrity and content. In the case of physical documents, there are regulations, such as those established by the National Archive, that help to understand how to preserve a physical archive.<\/p>\n

In the case of digital documents, it should be considered whether they require legal validity or not.
If the digital microform requires legal value, it is most convenient to consider a certification service for microforms and digital intermediation, such as that offered by SGS. The applicable standard in this case is NTP-ISO\/IEC 17065.
In the case of certain documentation, it is even necessary to consider the role of the digital notary. The digital notary's personal responsibility is to verify and authenticate a digital document, following a comparison between the original presented by the individual and the digital copy provided.

To digitize without legal value, we only need a scanner, a computer, and any person with the knowledge to scan. To digitize with legal value, we must consider what is established in Legislative Decree No. 681; that is to say, a digital signature must be used, a production line certified by a qualified, recognized, and authorized company by Indecopi, as well as the intervention of a sworn notary specialized in computer science, who certifies that what has been digitized is identical to the documents he or she has viewed.
